UK SEPTEMBER WORKSHOPS 2002 Saturday, 28th. Mossley - Tameside, Lancashire. Baguazhang Qigong The Eight Palms of this system will be presented as Static and Moving Qigong, including a detailed discussion on the relationship of each Palm Forms health aspect and the internal organ to which it is related through the Qi meridian system. Baguazhang Fist Set Baguazhang is best known for the use of the palm, however, this short fighting set, composed of only a handful of easily memorized moves, is said to have been transmitted by Cheng Ting Hua who was also Xingyi expert and this would account for the use of the fist as opposed to the open hand. The Self Defence applications of the set will be trained and the Dim Mak point strikes hidden in the movements will be demonstrated and explained. This set is of particular interest not only to practitioners of the Internal Chinese Schools but also to Martial Artists who study Aikido and Karate as the information it contains may be immediately applied to these systems. Ba Duan Jin Qigong This famous Qigong, The Eight Pieces of Brocade, was invented by Yeuh Fei in the 13th century and is structured to move the Qi through the 12 major Acupuncture Meridians. The first exercise opens the Internal Energy system preparing the six that follow to stimulate in turn, a pair of meridians one Yin, the other Yang. The eighth and last exercise, closes the system, allowing this most effective Qigong to have maximum effect. Chan Si Jin Qigong Better known as Silk Reeling, this series of exercises trace the Tai Ji Symbol, the matrix on which all Taoist arts are structured. It is first learned using the hands, progressing to the involvement of the whole body and may be practiced alone or with a partner. Breathing techniques will be demonstrated and these are then combined with Reeling The Silk for relaxation and to address stress related problems and chronic fatigue syndrome.
